It looks like a fun plane and a cool concept in the narrow context of the mission.  Like the article discusses though, I wonder if it might be obsolete.  AFSOC has a long history of success with somewhat obsolete platforms however.  There is obviously something to be said for a person in the seat with an emotional connection to those on the ground and some skin in the game.
