I worked Combat Management Systems at LM for 15 years after retirement from the Navy. Coast Guard ships are, well, ‘wonderfully simple’ compared to Navy warships. The number of radios, systems, servers, etc., compared to a DDG? Spartan. Oh, and NO weapons. Correspondingly, there’s less room, less power, less cooling. One of the MANY challenges will be physically compressing the Navy requirements and solutions into a smaller platform. This won’t end well. My two cents.
