If Oil was found in Israel or in their territory offshore it would be a game changer and probably create yet another conflict. There is oil in Africa but other than Nigeria, much of it largely hasn't been exploited or wasn't identified in the past. A certain humanitarian support US Army Reserve unit who's job believe it or not was well drilling, manned by a bunch of civilian wildcatters. When I was in Djibouti in 2004, I was having dinner with some and they told us they had to quit drilling in some places when trying to make humanitarian wells for the people because they were seeing signs of oil there.. It wouldn't look good if the US Army discovered oil in Djibouti. Oil found in the Med would be a game changer. So would a pipeline from Saudi Arabia across Israel to the sea.
