Rereading his bio, he became Skipper of 10 the month before I finished the Rag at HS-10 and went down the street to 2. I am sure you were already finished and at HS-8 so missed working for him there. So Mike O’Connor was there along with all kinds of folks from the Seaking side of the house in those days, including Bob Jones, Tom Pocklington, Bob Schottle, Tom Finley and others….mgb

Sad news. Buck was legendary. All who knew him, served with him, or under him were the beneficiaries of his exemplary leadership.
I'm sure he has probably started an NHA chapter in heaven.

Sad to say we lost Buck this evening. He passed away at 7 PM. He had a long Navy career and managed the Off Shore Training Range for Dyncorp. I worked for him in HS-4, ASWWINGPAC and at the training range. The Pellerins and Buchanan’s went to dinner every Friday for over 25 years. Getting old has its drawbacks, you lose too many longtime friends. Gene
