Nothing will happen. Middle East Wars are an industry. Some sell weapons. Some sell policy. Others run NGO’s to launder American money to anti-American causes under the guise of caring for the refugees. Maybe they export a few million “refugees” (all military aged men of course) to the very nation’s that made them refugees. I’m not complaining and to address my own hypocrisy, I enjoy retirement benefits from a career helping fight the last lost cause without even having to see combat. It is a volunteer force and I learned some very valuable and marketable skills that I probably would not otherwise have. The only bullets I caught were in my back in my skipper’s office. Others of my generation were not nearly as lucky. A few years later, we recycled the same WMD/regime liberation argument (almost verbatim) and went back on the road.
