Rustic Disc Brakes is the old Street Rod Manufacturing in Colorado who made all the early clever rear disc brake conversions for Ford rear ends plus about every other rear end. They even made a clever rear end/pinon mounted parking brake setup for every rear end in a hot rod including JAG and even Winters Quick Change. I used their rear disc brake conversion on my early 56 Chevy rear end in my roadster and later when I swapped in a 66 Galaxy Ford 9 inch used their kit for disc brakes. I used them again on the ’38 Willys Pickup till the mid 2000s when I went to a late model Ford Mustang 2002-2004 rear disc brakes.
Well these guys stopped making the pinion parking brake and got fed up in Colorado and moved to the south and changed their name to Rustic. I contacted them last fall 2024 about their pinion kit for the Jag and they told me they stopped making them several years back so unless you had one you were out of luck.
I checked their website again last week and discovered they were making them again, but only for Ford 9 inch rear ends, so I sent them a note, asking about the Jag. You can read their comeback, but they are offering a custom adaptable setup which can be adapted to a variety of rear ends but you will have to fabricate a couple of the needed pieces based on your particular rear end.
The link tells the basics about it and I included the pictures. Going to re-look at my setup underneath, although I am thinking it still might not work for their caliper actuating brackets and to have enough clearance for the round rotor disc to the underside of the body and the floor framework.
Anyway, pretty interesting setup. Had to download the pictures and look at them on the big screen to get a feel for the setup…..Fyi………mgb
