[Willysguys] Anyone know the history on this car?

I took this shot at Sears Point [Sonoma] decades ago.I spoke with the fella and he was shocked that I knew it was a fiberglass 39 Jack Merkel front end.A guy named Danny now owns the car but is really interested on any history on it.Thanks guys,Mick
