Very small bit of BD/me trivia:In 1988 BD ran a flathead powered liner at Bonneville. Went 220mph or so and got himself a "2" Club membership. As the car was next "in line" in the Swamp Rat "family" it got the designation Swamp Rat 33.I'm not entirely certain how it came to be, but I would imagine BD new Tom Hannah and they decided Tom could use the number on his liner. Or, as is the rule, after three years of non use the number became available and Tom just commandeered it early this century for his build.I ended up with the car and thought about changing the 33 until I heard the history.Knapp On Thursday, October 9, 2025 at 05:27:10 AM PDT, Mick Coyne <bigmotor1@sbcglobal.net> wrote: Mick _______________________________________________ Willysguys mailing list -- willysguys@westcoastwillysclub.com To unsubscribe send an email to willysguys-leave@westcoastwillysclub.com

Hey, Mick,Here's a pic of the Willys Coupe in its updated stance (much better looking IMHO), at the local 1/8 mile. A bit stylized but accurate. And no, it's not steel/original. I wanted free rein with the car and did not want to worry about cutting up a piece of history, and/or worry about dealing with a lot of rust, (I get my fill of that on The Salt) so I specifically sought out a late model Tupperware body with a race chassis.Enjoy "Little Friday",Knapp On Thursday, October 9, 2025 at 06:18:30 AM PDT, Mick Coyne <bigmotor1@sbcglobal.net> wrote: Jim is full of surprises, what an interesting fella to talk to.He should write a book.Yes, of course he has a Willys coupe, attached. I don't blame ya, I had one of those "moments" with my car.Measure 17 times then cut a hole in the hood.Like the new stance Jim, looks good!
